Craighton's work can be found in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was the first designer to bring a product to life on Kickstarter, and taught young designers how to use crowdfunding to support an independent design practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Craighton’s design practice is focused on Manual, a home goods brand that creates products for slow living.
Daniel is the co-founder of a hardware company that was recognized on the list of Best inventions of 2016 by Time Magazine. As their CMO, he raised over $2 million across four product launches on Kickstarter. Daniel currently serves as COO of Launch Studio, and expert advisor to the world's largest innovation fund, the Horizon 2020 European Commission.
Julio helped to build the Design and Technology Community Outreach team at Kickstarter and then went on to lead it for several years. The team’s mandate is to search the globe for creators who are working on innovative and noteworthy products and to help them run successful campaigns. While at Kickstarter, Julio worked with hundreds of creators and developed a unique understanding of the crowdfunding ecosystem. Currently, Julio serves as the CEO of Launch Studio.
James previously led the marketing team at Blazon Agency in London. There he worked on crowdfunding and e-commerce campaigns for a wide range of clients, from startups – including Pillo, Wonder Machines, and Evelyn & Bobbie – to large enterprises – such as Sony and Absolut.
As the co-founder and director of Sidekick, Oscar has helped over 20 startups, businesses and creative studios launch products on Kickstarter. Through his studio, he has launched six of his own products through crowdfunding, and provides product design services informed by his thoughtful perspective on our cultural and economic systems.

How much time will this take?
The course is designed to take around 6 to 8 weeks to complete. We aim to provide you with an in-depth understanding of what it takes to run a successful product-launch Kickstarter campaign. Ideally, you should not plan to launch your project as soon as you finish the course since you’ll likely uncover gaps in your preparation as you work your way through the course.
The video lessons last on average around 10 minutes, though there are a few lessons that are over 40 minutes long. Beyond watching the lessons, you should carve out time to join office hour sessions, explore the worksheets, guides, and templates, join discussions in the online forum, and begin applying your learnings. With that in mind, should set aside about 5 hours per week.
The amount of time needed to prepare for launch following the course varies a lot. This depends on your level of preparation before you enter the course, the scale of your team’s ambitions, and the people and resources that you have to bring to bear.
