Craighton's work can be found in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was the first designer to bring a product to life on Kickstarter, and taught young designers how to use crowdfunding to support an independent design practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Craighton’s design practice is focused on Manual, a home goods brand that creates products for slow living.

Daniel is the co-founder of a hardware company that was recognized on the list of Best inventions of 2016 by Time Magazine. Marjan Van Aubel  - Alumni ( July  2020 )

How much time will this take?

The course is designed to take around 6 to 8 weeks to complete. We aim to provide you with an in-depth understanding of what it takes to run a successful product-launch Kickstarter campaign. Ideally, you should not plan to launch your project as soon as you finish the course since you’ll likely uncover gaps in your preparation as you work your way through the course. The video lessons last on average around 10 minutes, though there are a few lessons that are over 40 minutes long. Beyond watching the lessons, you should carve out time to join office hour sessions, explore the worksheets, guides, and templates, join discussions in the online forum, and begin applying your learnings. With that in mind, should set aside about 5 hours per week. The amount of time needed to prepare for launch following the course varies a lot. This depends on your level of preparation before you enter the course, the scale of your team’s ambitions, and the people and resources that you have to bring to bear.

How is this course taught?

The course is delivered primarily through pre-recorded video lessons, though there are a few written lessons. The lessons are supplemented by numerous templates, guides, and workbooks. Peer discussions happen through the online discussion forum. Office hours take place on a regular basis through Zoom.

What resources are included in the curriculum?

Enrolling in the Kickstarter Masterclass gives you access to 32 pre-recorded videos and 3 written lessons. You’ll be invited to office hours that are held regularly by Julio and Daniel. These sessions will be recorded and made available for students who are not able to attend. The curriculum also includes guides, workbooks, and templates. You’ll also have access to a directory of reputable services and tools, and special discounts to a handful of these service providers.

What if I am unhappy with the course?

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are unhappy with the course for any reason, let us know and we will refund your payment within 30 days. We would appreciate notification within the first 30 days of the course.
